Our flood damage insurance repair process
Step 1: Initial contact and strip-out works
Once we are appointed by your insurer, your personal Pickford Insurance Co-ordinator will contact you to arrange the strip out works, as required by the appointed drying company. In the case of flood claims, these works can be extensive and are critical to preventing further issues such as damp and mould.
Step 2: Drying certification
On completion of the drying phase, a drying certificate will be issued which will allow our Contracts Manager to attend site and prepare a full schedule of repairs. This schedule is then issued to the Insurer for approval.
Step 3: Repair phase begins
Once instruction to proceed to repair is granted, we will allocate your site team who are experienced in flood restoration and insurance reinstatement works to complete the scheduled works. Throughout the reinstatement works our team will liaise with you to communicate all details of the repairs to ensure prompt completion. Any changes or variations identified during the works will be submitted promptly to your insurer for approval thus reducing any on-site delays and helping to keep your claim on track.
Step 3: Final inspection and certification
On completion of the repairs, we will carry out a final handover meeting to ensure that all the scheduled works meet the appropriate standards. After the final sign-off, you will be issued with the appropriate certification in respect of the works carried out to finalise and close your insurance claim with full documentation in place.
